Uruguay Meats represent sheep and beef processors and exporters that operate around 39 processing plants throughout the country and employ over 24,000 people.
The plants processed approximately 3.5 million head of cattle annually.

Who we are?

Uruguay Meats is a voluntary trade association representing all of Uruguay’s sheep and beef processors, marketers and exporters.

We provides a collective industry voice and advocacy on a wide range of topics, including trade policy and market access, technical and regulatory issues, workforce issues and science and innovation.
 
We invest in Research and Development on behalf of the Meat Industry to increase the profitability and sustainability of the red meat processing sector. 
 
We also act as an interface between government and industry stakeholders, we builds strong relationships with international and national counterparts to support constructive and open relationships with the Uruguayan Government, we coordinates the national recruitment of halal butchers, as well as organisations with industry halal certification contracts. Uruguay Meats also help to facilitate policy development on trade, market access, industrial relations, compliance costs, environmental, animal welfare, technical, and regulatory issues.

The company produces chilled and frozen, bone-in and boneless beef and lamb cuts, as well as offals and by-products. Frigorifico Carrasco S.A exports the most amount of Beef to China from Uruguay in terms of quantity.

Frigorífico PUL – PULSA S.A., a subsidiary of Minerva Foods, is a Uruguayan meat processing company. The PUL brand manages, processes, and packages products from Uruguay Plants No. 3, 7, 8, and 310, allowing it to produce the highest quantity of meat among all Uruguayan meat exporters. By leveraging access to all of Minerva’s meat processing plants in Uruguay, PUL offers a range of beef and lamb cuts, both chilled and frozen, as well as offal and by-products.

Lorsinal S.A a company owned by Sundiro Group has a production facility that is strategically situated within a 250km radius of the two most abundant cattle sources in the country and merely 30km from key maritime ports. Their robust operational structure allows them to slaughter 1,000 cattle per day across two shifts, accompanied by a 3,000-ton capacity for freezing and cold storage.
